Post by GMA »

BUTTERMILK PIE

½ cup (1 stick) melted butter
1 ¾ cups sugar
3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ to ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
1 unbaked 9 inch deep-dish pie crust

Preheat oven to 350 F degrees

Combine butter, sugar, eggs, flour, buttermilk, vanilla, nutmeg, & salt in a large bowl; whisk until smooth.

Pour mixture into pie crust. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, until golden & a wooden toothpick inserted in the center in the center comes out clean.

Cool completely on a wire rack. Cover with plastic wrap & refrigerate until serving time. Serves 8

NOTE: you can't taste the buttermilk at all.
