Hirens boot CD is one of the most useful tools I've found to help with issues you may have with your system .. It's a bootable CD with alot of very useful tools .. listed here

Beside having just about every tool needed to repair/anti virus/testing tools .. it also on bootup will give a choice of a Windows GUI .. it's a GUI to help to move around your system .. VERY useful ..

So if your locked out of your system due to Virus/ corrupt OS .. and want to repair/restore backup .. Hirens is the best tool going .. you can find it all over the net .. or get it here

I have that and it works well.I also use ERD commander.Erd is also good if you dont know pasword to start the computer.With ERD you can change it and then you will be able to get in.This tip is not to be used in getting borrowed computers going.
