No, not me flashing! I just installed the game on a new PC. There is an flashing going on that is bothersome. What can I do to get rid of it? It's like the video is not up to speed. :sos: The card is a Nvidia GeForce FX 5500, which I know is not state of the art, but should work.
Can someone please help an old man out? :comfort:
Actually I built the PC for my wife  to keep her happy, but figure I need MY addiction the too.

Is there anyone out there!

:peel: Was it something I said? Did I forget to use Right Guard? Please help me. The card isn't overheating and I have loaded all the current drivers. What is the freakin problem with the flashing. Kind of looks like another frame trying to pop through on the video of the game play. I can play, it's just annoying.
Thank you :sos:

Try turning down the settings in the game to let the card work less. How many FPS are you getting right now?

I'll try

I don't know how many FPS I'm at right now. What I do know is the game works great on my old FX5200 card. It should work fine on the new FX5500 card. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the card is bad? Maybe I'm just old and the mind is going.
Anyway all advise is greatfully received. Well, not all 8)
Thanks once again :comfort:

Deadmeat, have you installed the latest drivers? Go to the Nvidia GeForce website and download the latest driver for your card. Remember, you will need to delete your current driver(s) and then install the new one.

Hope this works for you,
Jimmy

I had already gone to the nvidia site and upgraded the drivers for the card. However, I did not uninstall the old drivers first. Ya sure I have to do that first?
:pc: Thank you

Yes, you have to delete the all the Nvidia drivers first w/ add/remove (keep the latest one from Nvidia). Your card will default to the last know/used drivers. Reboot and Widows will allow you to have a screen at 640x640 or something as such. Then right click on the desktop and set it at 1024x768 to start and go from there. Did this new card set an icon on your toolbar? If so click on it or go to your Nvidia folder and the "set up" file the set all the points to your liking.

Let me know if this does the trick, if not, it might be a good idea to contact GeForce tech help. After all it is a new card and they should help you out for 90 days anyway.

If UberSoldier ever comes back  he is the IT guy and may be able to help you further.

When i built my computer a year ago I found out about six months ago that Nvidia has default settings set to lets say idle mode as there is a lot more in the card than I knew. TWZ Dunkoff walked me through the settings mode and what a difference it made. He found out from one of the techs at Nvidia that walked him through it so contacting them might be a good idea after all.

OH CRAP!

All right, I deleted the old drivers and installed the most recent from the nvidia site and everything looks very nice  . That is except MOH. The game starts, but as soon as the text starts to come up and before I get to the main screen, it goes black and I'm back to my desktop screen. :y: I have 2 other PCs that haven't given me one problem, but this one is pissing me off :cuss: . So, I need some help here :sos: . Boohoo!
Thanks for all the previous advise

Wow, this is really a mind blower, sorry Deadmeat for all the ongoing issues. At this point I am totally dumbfounded as to why this is happening to you and Peas. There may be some validity as to the mobo, I do not know for sure as when I feel I need another video card I upgrade the computer as it is (4) or more years older anyway. This could be where the problem lies as it may not be designed for the newer technology and cannot process the info from the video card, processor and mobo.

Your 5500 card is an older card and would appear that it should work in your older mobo. Peas has a 7800 GT OC (over clocked) that is right at a year old on an older machine and he has the same problem. He tried to reinstall his old card and had the same problem. So now the mobo issue seems null and void. Go figure, Nvida cards are open GL as is MOHA

At this point for you I would email GeForce and EA games tech reps w/ all the info to include;
1. Your current video card, mobo, processor, operating system and ram
2. Let them both know what you did exactly after installing the new video card ie; drivers, reloading the game etc and your experience from each.
It may take a week for a response but they will respond but at this point it appears there is no other choice unless you know of a good computer guru.

What is interesting is that you both are getting kicked back to the desktop as if the video card is not letting you in the game, this happened to me when I purchased Battlefield2 and I found out my older Nvidia card was obsolete and could not process the newer game. After the new computer I transferred MOHA from the old computer onto the new one and everything worked fine. It really seems like there is a missing file or link and how this could happen w/ just replacing the video card is crazy. Peas even reinstalled his game and patches but no luck. Is it possible the new drivers have left out this file or link to MOHA or its way of working w/ the game because the game is old? Hopefully one or the other can give you a file or patch that will work.

Dang :pc: anyway

Yes sir, it sucks.

Well, the good news is that my old PC at work and "my" PC at home work just fine. True, they are older. Like Peas, I reinstalled MOH and all the patches twice and tried old and new drivers. I may just roll back to the older driver. At least I cold play the game. It just had that flashing that was annoying. AMD XP2500 processor and an nvidia 5200 in each. Heck, they're about as old as me and like me still working well. So, no rush to fix the problem child. However, I will take your advise and see what nvidia and EA have to say. If I find out anything, I'll let you & Peas know.
And thanks a lot for all the input :comfort:

Oh, before I forget, I cannot get the V2 Shelter to run. I have reloaded it and it is the ONLY map that won't run on any PC of mine.
