OPEN TERRAINS
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Image

Open Terrains is a set of large open areas designed for "Firemadness" style play conducive to
Snipping and rifling or whatever other madness.

Open Terrain consists of - 5 convertable maps - each map has at least two versions.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////

ICE - This landscape is very large and mostly flat. There are icy peaks and craigs
around some edges and corners and separating two expansive areas. The sun is out
so don't let the snow blindness get to you.

ICE 2 adds large hills in the center.

Image

Sand - This one is wide open with little protection with the exception of a minor central
slop and a hill top in one corner. Axis spawn in the protected corner and They have the
high ground, but they are surrounded. Be sure your canteen is full before you go or you’ll
be dead in no time and remember - use the pyramids off in the distance to keep yourself oriented.

Sand 2 presents a less open area divided by dunes and valleys.

Image

Hills - These green hills are light and rolling and provide a fair amount of cover if you are carefull.
There are some wide open spaces that give this map a fairly balanced terrain.

Hills 2 is two mountain ranges divided by a river that swerves from one corner of the map to the other. Both sides are connected by a
bridge in the center.

Hills 2.2 of this map disables the bridge for strict sniper action.

Image

Rock - This is basically a Hill working up in the center. There are plenty of
trench veins or crevases to carefully move around with limited cover. The base around
the hill is fairly open so watch your flank.

Rock 2 adds a large Mountain in the center.

Image

Island - Play king of the Hill in this smaller setting, Or just take a break from the fighting and enjoy
the seascape view. The Island, surrounded by Beach terrain offers a some natural cover. Be
carefull not to wade to deep in the surf.

BONUS: Easter Island!

These are cool maps w/ easy access back into the battle after being killed. Because of the distance between spawns they are itsy bitsy little fellers but can be killed w/ a good shot.

Last night we played 2 on 2 and that was great but can't wait for 5 on 5 to be awesome.

So sight in your scopes and jump in

PS Viper was playing last night

Viper:

These maps are great. The learning curve is fairly sharp but once you get the hang of it these are a nice change from the other maps. Thanks for setting these up.

BETA Version 2 INSTALL UPDATE!

If you have tried to install the Beta Version 2 of the Open Terrains and found that you are unable to access server 2 and get kicked instead. Never fear!!! Our "Crack Beta Team" has found a resolution.

If you have installed the first of the Beta Open Terrains, you must delete it. Do this by going to your MOH 'Main" folder and deleting the pk3 files titled either "zzzzz Viper Open Terrain" or user - Viper Open Terrain". After deletion install the Beta Version 2 from the above post from ViP.

Now your good to go and will be able to get your :cheeks: sniped, or in Jimmys' case, your head bashed!!

:twl: Good Job ViP!! :woot:

Yea the beta version 2 left out (') in ViPER's in the title

In the next version I will add a dummy pk3 so both old versions will be removed.

Sorry 1 more beta needed due to some unforseen Allied Assualt compatable issues.

Oh and Ill throw in another version.
