Air War Europe - The Great Air Battle over Britain Begins.

This week in 1941

Middle East - 20,000 British, Free French and Commonwealth troops under Gen Henry Wilson attacking from Palestine and Iraq and up against 45,000 Vichy French in Syria.

This week in 1942

North Africa - Axis Armor advances on the British in Libya

This week in 1943

Air War Europe - Operation Pointblank the Allied air force offensive begins on the 10th. American daylight bombing to focus on destroying Nazi industrial power and British nght bombing to focus on diminishing the German economy and morale.

This week in 1944

Pacific - US Task Force 58 begins heavy bombardment of Saipan, Tinian, Guam, Rota, and Pagan.

Wow, I remember reading about the Pacific campaign in 1944, although it wasn't the decisive blow we really wanted but it did definitely shook their world.
