I was curious if any of you use or have used Xfire. The nice thing about it is you can IM while in game, along with other features ie fast file transfers, server search and join of all installed games. Check it out, I've been using it for years now. And it's FREE! We like free.

yeah i do use it , its a pretty cool little program, ya have the ability to scan servers of games that you have installed to see who is playing on what server,
comes in handy when ya wanna search for a buddy, also ya can share files thru it, it has a pretty easy interface with it as well.
i'd say withing 15 min of installing it ya would know quite abit about it, enough to find friends and share files with them.
free is an awesome price as well. 8)
plus when you do find a friend on a server, and by clicking on that server you can join that game and fight along side yo bro.
as well as avoid certain people on said servers. " but we know noone ever does that" lol.
