Hey guys
Happy new year!
Well, I'm looking to replace my video card. It's an Nvidia geforce gtx 560 ti
I'm running win 7 on an i7 2600 3.40 ghz 8gb cpu
I see used replacements available for over $150 but I would prefer something new and I'm not sure what's compatible.
For example I see a new 2 gig gt 730 for $77 but no clue if it will work for me.
I'll be back on the server as soon as I get this fixed!
See you soon !

Re: Video card
I think compatibility for video cards is pretty much based on the type of slot you have in your motherboard. PCI vs PCI-E

Outside of that, it should work fine as long as it can fit in the space you have in the box while keeping a little bit of room for air flow.
This is what I have... it's somewhat older, but can handle the newer games with medium settings.

Re: Video card
Hi viper i havn't looked in here for ages and just seen your post.
Personally i wouldn't buy that video card.It is a budget video card and slower than your one which just died. Here are two speed charts

vs

I brought a gtx 760 ages ago then i brought a old second hand gtx 760 a few years later so i run two video cards.
I dont beleive in the top end very expensive video cards unless you are running a huge 4k type monitor at full resolution or running
two or three monitors.
You didn't say what happened to the video card but remember the baking thread from ages ago works and it is well worth giving it a shot.
If you have to buy a new video card i would only buy a mid price video card.Use that video card benchmark site and find one which is your max dollar
value and look for the higher score.
Some video cards are huge and one of mine has about 3 mm clearence from hitting the hardrive compartment so make sure it will fit in your case.
